Australian Officials Announced to Sell Busted Bitcoin
Almost after two years of Richard Pollard, the notorious Silk Road-fame drug dealer, Australian law enforcements are now planning to sell the $9.6 million worth Bitcoin that were seized from his Melbourne residence. The announcement came right after when Pollard pleaded guilty and bestowed 11-year jail time.
NYDFS Creating Transitional BitLicense for Small Bitcoin Startups
The New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) announced that it is considering creating a special transitional BitLicense framework that could be adapted to the needs of small businesses and startups. The special license would allow new Bitcoin companies and firms to operate more flexibly. The announcement was made by the NYDFS’s Superintendent Benjamin Lawsky in an event at Las Vegas, attended by Bitcoin veterans like Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire, Blockchain CEO Nicolas Cary, amongst others.
Mexican Bitcoin Exchange meXBT partnering with alphaPoint
The Mexican Exchange meXBT recently announced to integrate its services into the technology solutions provider alphaPoint. The announcement came at an event, named Money 20/20, which is currently being held in Las Vegas. Following the partnership, meXBT will find it easier to expand its operations in Mexico and throughout Latin America. The exchange’s COO and the co-founder, Joel Cano, said:
“In order for us to be successful in this market in Latin America we have to think outside of the bitcoin community. We have to think as a solution for people that might have searched for banking solutions but haven’t found what works for them.”
Malaysia: Now Pay Taxi Fare with Bitcoin
Taxi Monger, the first Malaysia-based mobile application to order taxis, added a feature that allows people to pay the drivers in Bitcoin. Currently available for almost every mobile platform, Taxi Monger serves customers in Kuala Lampur, Seremban and Johor Bahru. The company, which has a fleet of over 1,400 drivers, is confident about the success of this new cryptocurrency feature.
