So we’ve all been following the Ulbricht case very closely – and here at NewsBTC we have done our best to bring you the latest updates and information regarding community support. Today a Forbes contributor published a great piece that summarized some of the salient points from yesterday’s action – wth the primary focus being what is allegedly Ulbricht’s diary of his weekly/daily operations, from the very beginning. Here are a few of the highlights:
On the inception of Silk Road (end of 2010):
In 2011, I am creating a year of prosperity and power beyond what I have ever experienced. Silk Road is going to become a phenomenon and at least one person will tell me about it, unknowing that I was its creator.
A late 2011 entry concerning a date Ulbricht had with an unnamed woman:
I felt compelled to reveal myself to her. It was terrible. I told her I have secrets. She already knows I work with bitcoin wich [sic] is terrible. I’m so stupid. Everyone knows I am working on a bitcoin exchange. I always thought honesty was the best policy and now I don’t know what to do. I should have just told everyone I am a freelance programmer or something, but I had to tell half-truths. It felt wrong to lie completely so I tried to tell the truth without revealing the bad parts, but now I am in a jam. Everyone knows too much, dammit.
A possibly incriminating conversation from 2012:
myself: and we’re selling drugs here, first one’s free little jonny! damn that sounds aweful (sic)
vj: ha!!! Let’s give away a couple of playground sets, with swings and slides, just to complete the picture.
Obviously there is much more to come from the Ulbricht trial in the next few weeks, so we will do our best to keep you updated! For those looking for a complete transcript of the recent action, you can find it here courtesy of a resourceful Reddit user.
