First St. Petersburg Bowl, Now BitPay to Sponsor a NASCAR Driver

Bitcoin Payment Processor BitPay recently decided to be the primary brand on Justin Boston’s No. 54 Toyota Tundra and Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM) for an upcoming NASCAR event.

The Georgia-based company, which was also the main sponsor of this year’s St. Petersburg Bowl, will become the second organisation after Dogecoin to sponsor a NASCAR team. Not only this partnership will provide BitPay with enough marketing exposure, it will also help viewers interact with Bitcoin technology on whole. Stephanie Wargo, the company’s VP of marketing, elaborated the context and stated:

“NASCAR is watched by millions of people all over the world. Through this exposure and working with Justin and [his official operator] KBM, we hope to help raise awareness about the bitcoin technology and our company’s platform.”

There is no doubt in saying that a NASCAR event is certainly broader than a college football playoff like St. Petersburg Bowl. But to translate a sport loving audience into a Bitcoin fanatic is a job of another dimension. Indeed, the focus of BitPay throughout the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will be on attracting merchants to come and support Bitcoin payments. The company, in its previous branding venture, literally lured small merchants into doing the same. This time, the number may increase due to the geographical expansion of NASCAR event.

Justin Boston couldn’t agree less as he stated:

“I couldn’t be more excited about having this opportunity to represent the BitPay brand on and off the track. BitPay is a global leader in bitcoin payment processing and they are at the forefront of shaping how we all spend money in everyday life.”

And we expect BitPay to come out even bigger after this event.

The 2015 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season kicks off Friday evening, Feb. 20 at Daytona International Speedway.  The race will be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
