Coinkite Releases Tor Bitcoin Wallet API

Recently, Coinkite released their BitKit API and made it available to developers wanting to build their own bitcoin applications on top of the Coinkite platform. Now the Company has made available its latest release making that allows the Bitkit API to be used as a Tor hidden service.

Although Coinkite noted that their goal is not to facilitate illegal activity on the Internet, the bitcoin point-of-sale specialists have also explained that there is a need for individuals and businesses to protect their privacy while online.

Coinkite explained that this latest release is not intended to be used or to facilitate the development of underground marketplaces such as Silkroad, Agora or Evolution. On the contrary, the Coinkite developer team believes that this API toolkit could be valuable for anyone who is trying to build a user-friendly alternative to other decentralized marketplaces. Coinkite pack is included with multi-signature solutions, cold storage and offline password generation which could be useful to administrators of privacy-focused online marketplaces.

Coinkite services will now include the ability to send bitcoin via SMS and email, generate receiving addresses, check balances and import private keys using the Tor Network.
