According to their joint press release, the first phase of their platform integration has been completed after months of rigorous testing. As a result, the BitFinex users can now access a new WebSocket API to receive real-time order book updates and executions. The features that are still underway include a Rapid Trade Execution (to ensure speedy trading during peak volume hours), and a Flexible Architecture (to maintain speedy two way communication between AlphaPoint platform and BitFinex using special protocols).

A Scalable Bitcoin Platform

Apart from the aforementioned improvements, the new partnership between BitFinex and AlphaPoint has a special focus on scalability. This will ensure no lags when comes the time of enabling new currency pairs, and executing advanced order types and algorithmic strategies, the press release mentions.

Josh Rossi, the Vice President of Business Development at BitFinex, thinks that their partnership with AlphaPoint will definitely bring a super-rich experience for their global customers base. “This is just the first step in our ongoing process to deliver the most reliable and feature-rich trading experience for our users,” he said.

“While we are stress testing and ensuring that every aspect of the system will function to our user’s high expectations, we are very pleased that we can showcase some of the fruits of our labor. We are actively enhancing and developing features that we expect will be warmly embraced by the trading community. While we take every precaution in this integration, we think this is a major step in that process.”

Rossi’s counterpart from AlphaPoint, CEO Vadim Telyatnikov, also said that he believes in Bitcoin, blockchain and a world-class trading platform like BitFinex to broaden up the financial sector. “We believe Bitfinex will fill this need, and we’re honored they selected us as their backbone,” he concluded.

The company has already launched a similar exchange with DWV, an Australian company.
