Gaming platform and digital asset market provider Worldwide Asset eXchange (WAX) is one of the multichain frameworks being utilised by Immortal Games, the producers of the new American Gothic card game – Dark Country. Within the game, players can choose to battle for cowboy rangers or native indians of the old west, criminal renegades or even the undead destructive horde.

With multifaceted game modes and supported on the WAX, Ethereum (ETH), EOS, and Tron (TRX) blockchains, a pre-sale of game cards is currently underway with the public beta being scheduled for release this Spring.

The producers of Dark Country have adopted a multichain ethos to shift users from being “decentralised tribes” limited to just one blockchain to uniting “…these “tribes”…[and giving]… players an opportunity to feel free.”

EOS – WAX Compatibility

Launched as an ERC-20 token in an initial coin offering (ICO) in November 2017, WAX is now closely aligned with the EOS blockchain and specialises in providing a simple gateway for new users of blockchain-based gaming and media entertainment products. As such, the company’s CEO William Quigley holds the view that “WAX is the onramp for mass market cryptocurrency adoption.”

In December 2019, a version of the popular game Prospectors was released on WAX and initial results were encouraging with over 5,000 daily active wallets being recorded at one time before falling back to more modest levels. According to figures from DappRadar, the WAX version of Prospectors ended that month as the third most popular blockchain-based game.

Designed with a full suite of tools to make the creating, selling, buying and trading virtual items and tokenised assets in a fast, convenient and cost-effective manner, WAX appears to be gaining traction with developers and now has a growing range of decentralised applications (dApps) to it’s name.
