We really dont know whats going to happen to KSM i mean we have always been told its not a testnet and will hang around and function with value but i guess there is a chance all the developers might abandon there projects and focus on DOT leaving it as a place where developers only go to test out there projects before going to DOT essentially making it a 100% testnet. Or it could blow up and sit side by side with DOT no one knows its a risk but high reward if it does keep growing.
So this was my experience with the first batch of KSM crowdloans and why this was possibly my best investment to date.
My average buy price for KSM was around $250 (so not a super great buy in price)
My first loan was for KAR I loaned 5 ksm and received around 22 KAR per KSM netting me around $850 in free tokens.
The second auction I entered was for MOVR and again I loaned 5 KSM and received 14 MOVR per KSM this time netting me around $6000 in free tokens.
Although I have not seen massive returns on my base KSM these auctions make the initial investment so worthwhile.
I'm genuinely not sure how all of this works. I think I just got lucky by stumbling into KSM and following some smart people into the KAR crowdloan. I know this is the DOT sub but it's more active than KSM sub.
Is this the best project to get into crypto? I'm thinking about trading my ATOM and ADA for DOT/KSM because they actually have working products and seem to have good RIO's. I mean staking aside, if I just let this team hold my KSM/DOT for 48 weeks, they will give me coins for free, and then my KSM/DOT back later... So then I have two coins, that are both backed by the holder of each project. So both coins should do well, while holding only ADA or ATOM or whatever coin would have to perform twice as well just to break even with KSM/DOT comparison.
Is this legit? This feels like such an obvious decision that it must be too good to be true.
Plus this is like the only project where I actually see the international community. Have the time I search for something about a parachains project, its in Chinese, Korea, Russian or Arabic, on top of English. This is literally insane and I don't get it.
Well, isn't all this exciting?
Parachains are launched on Kusama and coming soon on Polkadot. The various teams behind the Polkadot/Kusama project have been working incredibly hard to get to where we are today and where we are going tomorrow.
You can help them and the best part is it doesn't require any special skills or research.
The only thing you have to do? Be nice to each other. No, actually I lie, you need to do more than that:
That's the only way this works, that is the only way we get to where we want to go. That includes everyone, developers, people working in the support channels on Discord, other community members here, members of other communities.
We encourage the best questions by being kind, we generate the best discussions by being open and receptive to new ideas and together we build a strong community that is capable of transitioning the blockchain space from warring tribes into trading nations.
Am I standing here claiming my poop doesn't stink? Nope, I need to do better, we all do.
Let's try and work on that together.
Good luck with the future.
