Cryptoasset of the Day (25 November 2021)

Gala Games aims to take the gaming industry in a different direction by giving players back control over their games. Gala Games mission is to make “blockchain games you’ll actually want to play.” The project wants to change the fact that players can spend hundreds of dollars on in-game assets, and countless hours spent playing the game, which could be taken away from them with the click of a button. It plans to reintroduce creative thinking into games by giving players control of the games and in-game assets with the help of blockchain technology.

Players can own non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and influence the governance of games within the Gala Games ecosystem. The Founder’s Nodes voting mechanism allows players to influence what games Gala should develop and what games should get funding. Besides buying NFTs for specific games, Gala Games also utilizes GALA — its own utility token. So far, Gala Games has released one playable game — Town Star and an NFT collectible series — VOX. It plans to release more games in the future, such as a fantasy RPG game, a sci-fi strategy game and a tower defense game.

Since launching in 2019, Gala Games has grown to 1.3 million monthly active users, and 26,000 NFTs have been sold, with the most expensive piece valued at $3 million.

News of the Day

According to Daily Hodl:

Ethereum Poised To Dramatically Outperform Bitcoin and Other Altcoins, Predicts Analyst Justin Bennett

A closely followed strategist thinks Ethereum (ETH) is gearing up for an impressive rally that will outshine the rest of the crypto markets.

Justin Bennett tells his 90,400 Twitter followers that ETH’s setup on the Bitcoin (BTC) trading chart could see the number-two crypto jump toward the 0.105 and 0.160 BTC levels, equal to about $6,000 and $9,100 at time of writing.

“ETH/BTC looks ready.

I’m thinking ETH outpaces pretty much everything over the next few weeks.”

When considering broader crypto trends, the analyst suggests that in addition to BTC, ETH could also offer investors clues about where the markets are headed.

“Everyone is looking to BTC for clues about this cycle. But what if ETH becomes the leading indicator?

Portfolio of the Day

This is a simulated trading portfolio using 10 top-performing coins from today. To build this portfolio, I did the following:

  1. Reviewed the Daily Snapshot from Coinmarketcap.
  2. Extracted 10 top coins with the best performance in the last 24 hours. In order for a coin to appear on this list, it should be in the top 100 cryptocurrencies at the moment. This is mainly for minimizing the risks of the investment in low market-capped coins.
  3. Build a simulated portfolio with the coins from Step 2 and dedicate 10% of the initial investment to each.
  4. Calculated the portfolio’s worth at the end of the day (the moment the snapshot was taken), assuming you put $1,000 as an initial investment. On green days, this usually leads to some gains, and on red days, some losses. This is just for giving you some idea of what could happen if you entered positions like this on this specific day.

Note: The selected coins and the percentages assigned to each one are also not necessarily an optimal way to build an investment portfolio.

In the following image, you can see the portfolio:

With 1k initial investment and dedicating $100 to each one of the 10 coins, here are the results:
