A Proven Track Record of Innovation

My journey began when I left UCLA to found CAG Technologies, a hardware-software firm that played a pivotal role in building Ascend Communications, a NASDAQ star acquired by AT&T (Lucent) for a record-breaking $24 billion. Later, I sold CAG to co-found Zhone Technologies, a $500 million startup, where I served as VP of Product Development, leading the creation of next-generation networking solutions. I then transitioned to online media, working with e-commerce pioneers to deploy machine-learning-driven personalization programs, transforming customer experiences at scale.

A Vision for Crypto’s Next Chapter

I entered the crypto space in 2012 with my first Bitcoin purchase, captivated by the potential of Bitcoin and the broader Web3 ecosystem. As an active retail investor and trader, I’ve navigated both centralized (CEX) and decentralized (DEX) exchanges, gaining deep insights into their strengths—and their shortcomings.

Today’s crypto exchanges, while functional, often lack differentiation. They serve as trading platforms but mirror traditional financial exchanges (e.g., CME, NASDAQ, CBOE) without offering unique value to retail investors. Many retail traders find themselves at a disadvantage, outpaced by sophisticated players like Wintermute, whose strategies can feel predatory. Regulatory efforts are emerging, but agile incumbents often sidestep them, leaving retail investors vulnerable.
