Thomson Reuters Adds USD/BTC Rates
Thomson Reuters’ Eikon Platform recently added USD/BTC pricing index of popular Bitcoin exchange BitStamp. After the announcement, Bitcoin has received more popularity by being officially associated with the world’s topmost news network Reuters. The company’s Eikon platform will now provide a number of Bitcoin related information, including trading rates and volumes; TOB Bid/Ask; daily summarized Open, High, Low, Close; and more fruitful features.
Ross Ulbricht’s Defense Targets US Government
In order to the save the neck of Silk Road’s alleged owner Ross Ulbricht, his defense team has rooted more evidences that clearly reveals certain misconducts performed on the government’s side. The law body released a statement which revealed how Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) violated the Fourth Amendment of the United States. The statement says that the FBI didn’t have any legal search warrant at the time when they raided Silk Road servers in Iceland. Using this misconduct as a shield, Ross Ulbricht’s legal representatives also pleaded all charges to be dropped against him.
The fourth amendment reads:
“The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects,[a] against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”
Russian Government Proposes Bill to Ban Cryptocurrencies
The Russian Ministry of Finance is taking serious steps towards reaching a consensus that allows them to ban unregulated digital currencies from being operated. Last week, the state agency announced to draft a bill that will put an outright ban on Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. The agency also warned the cryptocurrency users with a guaranteed jail time, in case they are found to be associated with any transactions related to this “illegal” money.
