Reports claim that Portugal is slated to receive its first Bitcoin ATM which is going to be installed in Lisbon. However, a precondition for it is that the plan from the Bitcoin Já pans out well and everything goes as per plan. This shows how much popular Bitcoin which was created in 2008 by the mysterious Satoshi Nakamoto, a programmer has become.
Portugal too is catching attention as hundreds of users want to have access to Bitcoin and for them Bitcoin ATM would be the right solution. However, according to Bitcoin Já, the ATM, which is unlike any Bitcoin ATM, is the result of what’s been described to be a rigorous manufacturing process.
The company says that with experienced IT professionals at the helm of the project, end users can expect to interact with a feature-rich and scaleable system. It also says that the ATM is by and large a two-way system wherein consumers will not only be able to purchase Bitcoin, but will also be able to sell it in exchange for cash.
In the press note to the media Bitcoin Já says that future software updates will bring support for altcoins and service payments, adding layers of convenience to the machine. The announcement says that design-wise, the machine developed by Bitcoin Já, with the ATM shell being a vault built by a reputable ATM kiosk manufacturer in Portugal has excellent features.
According to the company source the machine will be installed in the capital city of Lisbon and enable consumers to toy around with the device beginning on October 4th at 5 p.m. local time at the @Cinema theatre. This will be happening for the first time that Portugal will have Bitcoin ATM with full functionality.
The Company is Committed for Digital Currency
Joaquim Lambiza, Bitcoin Já’s founder, admitted that his company is fully dedicated to the cryptocurrency concept through the development of commercial products and solutions. He added that when he wanted to launch an ATM in Portugal back in January, he was not satisfied with either the business approach or the ROI that existing solutions offered.
Therefore, he says that he decided to create a new ATM starting from a pure business perspective. According to him it helps to understand that he was a Partner at IBM and before that a Partner at PricePricewaterhouseCoopers, responsible for several global business transformation and IT projects.
Joaquim Lambiza says that he left IBM to dedicate his time to two of his passions, Aviation and finding the disruptive technology that will change lives and according to him he found that the Blockchain technology fits into it well.
