Georgia Tech to Integrate Bitcoin Payments
Georgia Institute of Technology recently inked a deal with renowned Bitcoin payment processor BitPay in the wake of their decision to integrate the cryptocurrency into their stadium concession sales and campus card declining balance account program. Concerning the same, the college has decided to install Bitcoin point of sale services to BuzzCard – its internal debit-card network. Students will be able to load Bitcoin into this card, which will subsequently help them purchase goods and services on campus. The service is further coupled with JacketWallet – a Bitcoin wallet designed by Pheeva specifically for campuses.
US Politicians to Receive Bitcoin Donations this Week
Eight Congress members in the US are scheduled to receive Bitcoin donations by mail sometime this week. As per the available reports, the cost of each donation would be equivalent to $250. These politicians are reported to be rookies in terms of using cryptocurrencies. BitPAC, an organization whose motive is to introduce digital currency technology to politicians, is the one to take this initiative. The name of the leaders who will receive Bitcoin are Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Rand Paul (R-KY), Paul Ryan (R-WI), Ron Wyden (D-OR), Ted Cruz (R-TX), Jeb Hensarling (R-TX), Maxine Waters (D-CA) and Jared Polis (D-CO).
Coinapult Receives $775,000 in Funding
Coinapult, a Panama-based Bitcoin wallet and payment processor, recently received $775,000 in funding from a number of investors, including the likes of FirstMark Capital and Bitcoin Opportunity Corp. The contribution was reportedly made in two rounds. Coinapult now expects to use the money on improving their product and services. It is also planning to market it further to generate potential leads.
