
The Bitcoin Alliance of Canada (BAC) says that Executive Director Anthony Di Iorio has resigned from his post. He started working with the organization since its inception in 2012 and helped spread awareness of Bitcoin to Canadians from coast to coast. Though he has stepped down from his position as a member of the Board, he will continue to help support the BAC in an advisory position.
According to a press release from the BAC, Di Iorio stepped down from the position because he wants to focus on his business ventures and spend more time with his family. Nonetheless, the BAC wished Anthony the best of luck and success with his endeavors and extended many thanks to him for the time he has dedicated to it.
The press release from the BAC further informs that in his time as Executive Director, Mr. Di Iorio was responsible for successfully organizing Canada’s first Bitcoin conference. According to the organization Anthony also represented the Alliance at numerous international conferences over the past 2 years.
Kyle Kemper to act as interim Executive Director
Nonetheless, Anthony Di Lorio was a driving force behind many of the BAC’s initiatives and has contributed greatly to the growth of Canada’s Bitcoin community as founder of the Alliance as well as the Toronto Bitcoin meet-up. As the decision from him came, the BAC board appointed Kyle Kemper to act as interim Executive Director.
Kemper has been with the organization since its inception as he served as an existing board member since April 2014. As he has a strong familiarity with the BAC’s workings and is eager to ramp up its activity level and member involvement, the organization believes that he is the right option after the departure of Anthony.
With a background in business, finance, technology, and politics, Kemper has broad understanding of the digital currency ecosystem. In fact, he is known for his roles with both the Bitcoin Strategy Group and CAVIRTEX in the entire digital currency setup in the country. He says that he is honored to accept this appointment.
Kemper admitted that Anthony Di Iorio was a great leader and will be missed and according to him the Alliance thanks him for his tireless efforts. He further said that moving forward; he hopes to continue growing our membership while promoting Bitcoin across Canada. Also, as the Bitcoin ecosystem evolves dynamically and he thinks it’s important that Alliance focuses its efforts to maximize this opportunity.
