My name is David Bailey, CEO of BTC Media LLC (better known as publisher of yBitcoin magazine), and I’m very proud to announce that we’ve officially acquired Bitcoin Magazine! I wanted to let you know first, prior to our official press release, in appreciation of your loyalty to Bitcoin Magazine.
As you know, Bitcoin Magazine is the oldest media outlet in the entire cryptocurrency industry, dating back to its launch in 2012 (eons ago in Bitcoin time). Bitcoin Magazine has been there covering the highs and lows of the Bitcoin revolution, and to many of us it provided our first exposure to the future of money. More than anything, Bitcoin Magazine has been a resource and voice for the Bitcoin community at large. However, as Bitcoin has grown from a nascent technology to a financial juggernaut, the magazine has faced challenges scaling itself to the ever-increasing needs of our community.
With this challenge in mind, we’ve welcomed Bitcoin Magazine into the BTC Media family with open arms, and forged a new vision that honors its role while encouraging the organization to meet its full potential.
We envision a Bitcoin Magazine that not only gives the community at large a very loud voice, but also delivers the quality and quantity of content needed to stay educated on every new development. We’re going to be investing heavily in Bitcoin Magazine’s infrastructure and team to bring you exclusive scoops, breaking news, investigative reports, quantitative data, analysis from leading Bitcoin experts and a look behind the curtain of not only the world’s leading cryptocurrency, but the fintech space in general.
We have tons of exciting announcements coming down the pipeline such as all-star writers, new features/products and more… but you’ll have to wait! Right now our primary focus is completing the transition and building the infrastructure needed to support this vision. For the immediate future, we are going to be focusing our attention almost entirely on the digital side of Bitcoin Magazine. This does not mean we’re leaving the print magazine behind– we’re only putting it on pause– but it does mean it will be several months before you see a new print issue. I can promise it will be worth the wait.
What does this mean for you? (Read on for good things.)
As a loyal subscriber to the magazine, you are owed some issues, and we plan to deliver you a product that exceeds your expectations. However, we realize that you may not want to wait for new issues of the print magazine. So we came up with two options to tide you over….
- Use your credits in our online store. We are selling the last remaining artifacts of the original Bitcoin Magazine–offering you a limited-time opportunity to complete your magazine collection and own a piece of Bitcoin history. Just email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know you want store credit.
- Use your credits to join our upcoming premium subscriber program. With your existing subscriber credits, you can sign up at no cost for our top-tier group of insiders who will be the first to know about new products and premier features, and receive discounts on all of the above. While we are not ready just yet to announce details, watch your inbox for an email detailing benefits and how to upgrade your account.
If you do not want to receive future issues of the magazine, nor do you want either of the above options, please shoot us an email by February 15, 2015 at email@example.com for refund.
The biggest reason for you to hang with us as a loyal subscriber?
You are about to be blown away by the news, features, products and services that the newly robust Bitcoin Magazine is getting ready to offer you. The cryptocurrency community is exploding. Moment by moment, we are changing the world. You are on the frontlines. Don’t give up your front seat as history is made. Have patience as we work through your requests and email. I can promise that you, as a loyal subscriber to the original voice of the cryptocurrency community, will be rewarded.
Thank you for being part of the future!
