UATP Partners with Bitnet, Accepts Bitcoin from Customers

In an announcement, Universal Air Travel Plan or UATP says that it has partnered with Bitnet so that it can provide additional payment option Bitcoin for customers. It is a global payment solution for the airline industry that is going to transform the way payments have been done up to now. Bitcoin is not just fast payment method but extremely low-cost.

Informing the media professionals, UATP said that it is a payment network privately owned by 30 airline companies and operating for the benefit of the global airline industry. It announced that from now on it will offer its network of 260+ airline companies, the ability to accept payments in the digital currency.

Ralph Kaiser, president and CEO of UATP informed that the company is very happy to be partnering with Bitnet to add Bitcoin to its payment platform. He further admitted that the company is always looking for skilled partners to bring additional forms of payment to the UATP processing platform and Bitnet fits the bill well.

Whereas UATP is going to revolutionize the way it accepts payments from customers, Bitnet, a global payment management platform for digital currency based in Belfast, UK, with additional offices in Europe and the San Francisco Bay Area, is also going one step further towards its goal to popularize Bitcoin as it offers processing Bitcoin payments for UATP.

Talking to media professionals Akif Khan, Vice President of Solutions Strategy at Bitnet said that the company and UATP share the same mission of lowering transaction costs and fraud risk for their clients. Nonetheless, he also admits that partnering with UATP was an obvious choice for Bitnet as this is the company that has brought Bitcoin payments to next levels.

Bitcoin Payment is Becoming Popular among one Segment of Customers

He says, “Our partnership will make it easier for UATP’s member airlines to accept payments in Bitcoin via a lightweight integration that avoids impact to downstream systems and leverages existing UATP reporting and refund interfaces.” Nonetheless, founded in 2014, Bitnet is staffed by payment processing and financial technology domain experts.

Coming from two experienced professionals John McDonnell and Stephen Mc Namara who have 40 years of combined experience as members of the senior executive team at CyberSource, a payments gateway acquired by Visa in 2010 for US$2 billion, Bitnet is transforming the way Bitcoin is being perceived.
