Virgin Group Founder Sir Richard Branson is going to host a high profile Bitcoin conference on his private retreat in the Caribbean, his website reported.
According to the available details, Block Chain Summit, as the event is titled, will be bringing together “the greatest minds” of the digital currency sector to better understand the challenges surrounding Bitcoin’s underlying technology to help “define the future”. The elite conference also promises to lay down solutions that could help shape up the future of blockchain in a productive manner. Excerpt:
“Come visit with Sir Richard Branson on his private island for a set of intimate discussions highlighting critical issues and solutions and to lay out the framework for a world where the humankind is fully benefiting from the amazing technology behind the Blockchain.”
And indeed, the participant list provided by the summit’s official website displays some of the leading names of the digital currency industry, ranging from technology guru Paul Brody to angel investor Barry Silbert. The list also includes FinTech Innovator John Edge, Morgan Stanley MD Arie Levy Cohen, Bitcoin Core Developer Jeff Garzik, amongst a total of 30 other veterans from the Bitcoin and finance sector.
Sir Branson meanwhile will be cohosting the Block Chain Summit alongside BitFury CEO Valery Vavilov, MaiTai Global Founders Bill Tai and Suzi Mai, and GCF Fund MD George Kikvadze. Furthermore, the event will be moderated by Michael J. Casey (Senior Columnist, Wall Street Journal), Matthew Bishop (US Business Editor, The Economist) and Hernando De Soto (President, Institute of Liberty and Democracy).
Block Chain Summit will be held from the 25th to 28th May and will be conducted on Sir Branson’s Necker Island.
