Coinbase To Meet Customer Needs “We are looking to support any cryptocurrency that our customers want to use, and my hope is that one of them succeeds massively, reaching billions of people over the coming years,” Armstrong wrote. He added: I’m very interested in have digital currency scale, and I agree that Ethereum seems to be doing a much better job at this than bitcoin right now. But the future is still unknown. He also asked Reddit readers to get the word out that Coinbase is seeking new talent. Coinbase added Ethereum a day after its historical hard fork in July. Coinbase, it was noted, could benefit from Ethereum’s plans for unlimited scalability, added security by employing fail-safe mechanisms in smart contracts, and higher flexibility, leading to a greater ability to innovate and adapt. Armstrong Applauds Ethereum Armstrong was among those who applauded Ethereum for its hard fork in July. Fred Ehrsam, co-founder of Coinbase, had noted that in May that in its first nine months, Ethereum’s level of app development had already outpaced bitcoin’s.
