Binance, the largest crypto exchange in terms of daily trading volume, has launched a new global marketing campaign in partnership with the Portuguese professional footballer Cristiano Ronaldo in honor of his newly launched NFTs.
Cristiano Ronaldo Launches New NFTs
On Friday, Cristiano Ronaldo, the iconic football star who plays as a forward player for the English Premier League club Manchester United, launched an NFT collection named the “CR7 NFT collection” on Binance NFT Marketplace.
The NFT collection featured a limited edition of seven animated statues depicting the iconic moments of Ronald, organized in four rarity levels. The new NFT collection consists of other exclusive perks, such as a personal message from Ronaldo and autographed merchandise.
According to Ad Age, the 60-second short advert video will air live across TV channels and digital and social media platforms across more than 74 countries and over 28 languages worldwide.
Manchester United FC Seeks To Oust Ronaldo
Ronaldo and Binance’s NFT partnership comes amid the standoff between Ronaldo and his Manchester United club. The tension began mid-this following his explosive interview on TalkTv with Pier Morgan.
During the interview, the football star criticized the club and manager Eric ten Hag, whom he described as “disrespectful.” Ronald told Morgan that the United hierarchy was trying to force him out of Old Trafford.
Ronaldo also revealed that Hag doubted him when he said he could not attend pre-season because his daughter was ill in hospital. In that context, reports have emerged that the club is exploring ways to terminate Ronaldo’s contract.
But interestingly, Binance has offered Ronaldo safe refuge in the NFT space with the new series of drops featuring his football legacy. The new NFTs are live for auction, with bidding prices for the rarest five NFTs starting at 10,000 BUSD.
